Dr William TalbotPrincipal Specialist
Dr William Talbot established this practice in 2001 with his lovely wife, Terri. He trained as a comprehensive Ophthalmologist in New Zealand, obtaining Fellowships with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. Dr Talbot is also a member of the Australian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and has completed a post-graduate subspecialty Fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Oculoplastics in the United Kingdom. Dr Talbot has a special interest in small incision cataract surgery, glaucoma, diabetes, and the retina.
Outside of work, Dr Talbot enjoys mountain bike riding, sailing with his three sons, and shopping with his daughter. He and his family are also keen winter sport enthusiasts, and on occasion are able to ski and snowboard together. Dr Talbot also loves to travel and experience other cultures and people’s ways of life. This interest has led him to spend time doing eye care in numerous developing countries, including Polynesia and Uzbekistan. He is also proud to travel to Papua New Guinea annually as part of an Australian Aid organisation. In the future, Dr Talbot is keen to continue to do more work in this area.

Dr James McAlister Corneal sub-specialist Ophthalmologist
Dr Jim McAlister visits our clinic once a month and is a Corneal sub-specialist Ophthalmologist. Dr McAlister attended the University of London. His specialist training was based in London at the world’s largest Eye Hospital, Moorfield’s, and he completed his Fellowship in Cornea, External Eye Disease and Refractive Surgery at Moorfield’s Hospital followed by a one year Fellowship in Cornea and External Eye Disease at Southampton Hospital. Dr McAlister practises privately in Brisbane and visits Townsville to offer his expertise on corneal transplantation, ocular surface tumours, infections and auto-immune disease of the ocular surface.

TerriManaging Director
Terri established this practice in 2001 with her husband and is our wonderful Managing Director. Terri has four children and is also working as a teacher part-time. This does not leave her with a great deal of space for hobbies, however she does enjoy craft when she can manage it and she likes to travel with her family. Her favourite thing to do is spend Sunday afternoons relaxing with her family and having coffee with her friends.
MelissaExecutive Manager
Melissa is our Executive Manager. She joined the team in 2006 with her extensive human resource, operations and project development management experience. In her spare time, Melissa is married and is the mother to three beautiful daughters. Her hobbies include photography with her husband and travelling with her family.
AllisonOperations Manager
Allison joined the team in 2003 as a highly experienced Medical Receptionist. Since then Allison has evolved and developed within our practice and is now our much-valued Operations Manager. Allison is married with two adult-children and three amazing grandchildren, whom she treasures dearly. Allison enjoys fishing with her husband and reading in her spare time

Since joining our team in 2005 as a fresh graduate, Tanya has become our most experienced Orthoptist. Tanya is enthusiastic about Orthoptic research and possesses extensive knowledge in her field and Ophthalmology. Tanya is kept very busy with her two gorgeous children.
TiffanyOptometrist
Tiffany is our optometrist that visits our clinic once a week. When she is in our rooms she predominantly does Dry Eye testing and treatment, but also does post-operative check ups and refractions.

Renata joined our practice in 2010 as an experienced Medical Receptionist. Renata’s knowledge has advanced since joining our team and she is a highly appreciated member. Renata is married and is the doting mother of three adult daughters, one son and seven beautiful grandchildren. This keeps Renata very busy! In her spare time she enjoys reading.
